We think that the Little Amal journey from the Syrian border has been one of the most wonderful and impactful #SanctuaryinArts events and we’re looking forward to her arrival in the UK after her long journey to safety.
Good Chance Theatre invites schools, and City of Sanctuary networks to welcome Little Amal, a 3.5-meter puppet of a 9-year-old refugee girl, when she arrives in the UK in October.
Little Amal has been walking since July, beginning at the Syria-Turkey border and is soon to be finishing her journey in Manchester this November.
Little Amal has been through towns, cities, and villages across Europe where she will arrive in the UK looking for her mother. In each place, communities have welcomed her with artistic events uniquely reflecting and celebrating the different people she has met. You can discover more about her journey here.
Good Chance Theatre want to make her arrival in the UK the biggest welcome yet and we’d like you to be a part of it!
Schools, groups and organisations are invited you to come to one or more of the UK events, starting on 19th October ending 3rd November.
Please see the full itinerary here.
Events are in Folkestone, Dover, Canterbury, Lewisham, London, Oxford, Coventry, Birmingham, Sheffield, Barnsley and Manchester.
If you would like to join Good Chance at one of these incredible UK events, please let them know by completing the form here by 5pm on Friday 15th October and they will be in touch with more information.
The Good Chance team will be there at most events to welcome you – these are listed on the form as ‘meet and greet events’.
